Chairman's Announcements

To receive any reports the Chairman wishes to make.


The Chairman invited all present to stand in a minute’s silence in memory of former District Councillor Maurice Johnson MBE.


The Chairman also took the opportunity on behalf of the Council to convey his best wishes to Councillor Wren.

Appointment of Interim Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service pdf icon PDF 62 KB

The Council to receive the recommendation of the Appointment Panel, established by the Joint Human Resources Committee on 6 Decebmer 2018, on the preferred candidate to fill the post of Interim Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service.


The Leader presented a report and recommendation to Council seeking approval of the appointment of Gill Kneller as Interim Chief Executive following the resignation of Sandy Hopkins.


Proposed by Councillor Millard and seconded by Councillor Butler, it was


RESOLVED that Gill Kneller be appointed as interim Chief Executive of East Hampshire District Council from with effect from 1 January 2019 thereby fulfilling the role of Head of Paid Service and Returning Officer for East Hampshire District Council.

Sandy Hopkins

On behalf of the Council, and at the invitation of the Chairman, the Leader took the opportunity to thank Sandy Hopkins for her exceptional contribution as Chief Executive since 2009 and wished her well in her new position.
